Unlocking the Carbon Markets: From Guidance to Action, recent initiatives to mobilise demand
The event will examine what will unlock the growth of carbon credits and markets. The session will open with a presentation of the guidance developed by the LSFI/ALFI Voluntary Carbon Credits and Carbon Markets Taskforce, which aims to provide a clear framework for financial institutions that wish to set up investment vehicles with strategies linked to the voluntary carbon market. It will continue with a presentation of the Coalition to Grow Carbon Markets Playbook, which sets out policy levers that governments can consider to support sustainable, long-term demand from companies for high-integrity carbon credits. The session will then move into a panel discussion on carbon markets in action, bringing together financial players who are actively working to move the market forward. Panelists will also consider the role that voluntary and Article 6 carbon credits could play within the overarching climate framework, and what this could mean for market integrity, demand, and investment.
