The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the annual summit under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) that convenes world leaders, negotiators, civil society, and experts to address the urgent challenges of climate change.
COP30
COP30 took place from 10th to 21st November 2025 in Belém, Brazil, at the gateway to the Amazon rainforest. This edition was particularly significant, placing climate negotiations in one of the world’s most important biodiversity hotspots. The location provided a unique backdrop to elevate discussions on:

Luxembourg’s Participation and Pavilion at COP30
For the first time, Luxembourg hosted its own Pavilion at COP30 — a milestone demonstrating the country’s ongoing commitment to international climate leadership and sustainable finance.
Hosted by the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity, the Luxembourg Pavilion served as:

A space to showcase national initiatives and global partnerships

A platform to highlight Luxembourg’s contributions to international climate finance, Finance for Nature, and sustainable innovation
Guided by the theme “Let’s Make It Happen: Mutirão Meets Luxembourg”, the Pavilion bridged Luxembourg’s expertise and heritage with the energy and social fabric of the Amazon region. It brought together actors from government, finance, civil society, and the private sector to advance a just transition aligned with EU climate goals and the Paris Agreement.
Throughout COP30, the Pavilion welcomed numerous sessions, presentations, and networking events organised by Luxembourg institutions and international partners.

As part of Luxembourg’s engagement, the Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Initiative (LSFI) hosted a dedicated side event and an evening networking reception at the Luxembourg Pavilion.

The session opened with a keynote by Nicoletta Centofanti, CEO of LSFI, who presented the main findings of LSFI’s Working Group on Innovation & Retail Products for Sustainable Finance. The presentation highlighted:
