The Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Initiative (“LSFI”), acting as data controller, complies with the relevant regulation on data protection (the General Data Protection Regulation EU 2016/679 (GDPR”).

The LSFI uses your personal data to provide you with a better experience and ensure that the initiatives, activities, and events we send you adapt to your preferences. We are committed to protecting and processing your personal data following relevant data protection legislation and good data processing practices.

This privacy notice explains what data is collected on the website of the LSFI (www.lsfi.lu) including when LSFI sends communications and invitations and when you register to one of the LSFI activities, the purpose for which these data are collected, the lawfulness of it and how these data are processed.

Purposes of the processing of your personal data

Personal data will only be processed for the following purposes:

  • To provide the service you have requested and/or organise the event you have booked, and to comply with the obligations arising therefrom (in particular in terms of invoicing, where applicable, and declarations).
  • Defend our interests in legal proceedings.
  • Perform statistical processing of the website (e.g.,visitors statistics and analytics) and carry out email campaigns (e.g., if you subscribe to LSFI’s newsletter or to receive LSFI events invitations) always intending to enhance our activities in line with our mission and action plan.
  • Therefore, personal data will also be collected for recruitment processes via the email published in this website (more information can be found below).

Legal basis of the processing

The legal basis that justifies the processing of your personal data is:

  • Processing is necessary for the purposes of legitimate interest pursued by LSFI such as providing and improving LSFI’s website, including monitoring its use, providing and improving LSFI’s promotion of its services and events, and providing the information requested by you.
  • Is necessary in order to comply with legal obligations for the prevention of fraud and communication with public authorities and third-party claims.
  • Prior consent that you have given us, through the registration in our Newsletter and /or Events mailing list form.

Data collected by the LSFI

For the purposes mentioned in this privacy notice, the LSFI may collect the following personal data:

  • Identification and contact details: name, email address and country.
  • Professional information: job title and company.
  • Preferences and interests: preferences regarding LSFI’s activities, fields of interest regarding sustainable finance.
  • Information on how you navigate on our website: we may use cookies to collect data on how you use our website (for instance, website pages you have visited, how long you stayed on them, which items you clicked on and your IP-address). You can refer to the cookies section for additional information.
  • Analytical information: inputs on the newsletter or marketing emails received (e.g., articles clicked or opening rate).
  • Pictures taken at LSFI events and other meetings may also be processed.

How is the data processed?

  • Regarding the information that we automatically collect when you use our website we automatically collect, through cookies, the following information: navigation and click-stream data; HTTP protocol elements and search terms. The information you might have entered at www.lsfi.lu will be stored for processing by Google Analytics (for example, to provide visitor statistics, etc..).   • The personal data you input when registering to our database for receiving the Newsletter through our dedicated registration form is collected by us and Mailchimp. We work with Mailchimp to send newsletters, key announcements and invitations as well as to collect automatic information from your online interactions. Data sharing with third parties

Your information will be shared internally to manage our activities. This includes all staff members of the LSFI.

The LSFI does not share your data with third parties. Only when a co-organised activity or event occurs, the LSFI may share your data with the relevant partner; the data transmitted on that occasion would strictly be used only to develop that activity.

Retention period of the personal data

The information you have shared with the LSFI will not be used for any other purpose and will not be stored in our systems beyond the time necessary to achieve the objectives stated above and always complying with the limitations established by the law.

Your rights

  • Right of information: you can request information about those personal data we have about you.
  • Right of rectification: you can communicate any change in your personal data.
  • Right to erasure and to be forgotten: you can request the prior blocking of the deletion of personal data.
  • Right to limitation of processing: this is to restrict the processing of your personal data.
  • Right to data portability: in some cases, you may request a copy of the personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format for transmission to another data controller.
  • Right to object and automated individual decision-making: you may request that decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal effects or significantly affect the data subject not be made.

Please note that these rights are not absolute and that we may not be able to respond positively to your requests in certain situations.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint for the wrongful use of your personal data, at any time, with the National Commission for Data Protection, CNPD (15, Boulevard du Jazz L-4370 Belvaux).

In accordance with applicable data protection legislation, the LSFI informs you that when using the website, we may collect information by using ‘cookies’. By using our website, you are free to consent to their storage or to refuse them.

We use the cookies for the following purpose:

  • Collect performance of particular pages to analyse the impact of our activities and projects

Human Resources and Recruitment

When applying for a job at the LSFI you submit your data via email. Such data includes, amongst others, your name, address, phone number, email address, experience, education, diplomas, job skills and other information on your curriculum vitae (CV) and/or your cover letter. The LSFI uses such data solely to consider your candidacy for employment, to communicate with you and generate related correspondence, including offer letters and employment agreements. We retain such data for a period of 3 months to ensure the transparency of the recruitment process. We would only keep it for a longer period if the applicant requests that we do so.

Amendments to this privacy notice

The LSFI reserves the right to amend this privacy notice from time to time to reflect changes in the law, our data collection and used practices, and to ensure it is accurate, complete and up to date.
