What’s the role of women’s leadership in the transition to sustainability?

The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg (FDEF) and the Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Initiative (LSFI) are pleased to invite you on Thursday, 5th October, from 12:30 to 14:00 (CET) to their online event “What’s the role of women’s leadership in the transition to sustainability?”.

Integrating the gender dimension plays a twofold central role in the transition towards sustainability. On the one hand, according to recent studies, women in leadership positions have been seen to consistently integrate sustainability in business and investment decisions further. On the other hand, particularly in developing countries, the consequences of climate change have a greater impact on women, therefore requiring larger attention.

This webinar will explore the intersection between gender integration and sustainable finance; trying to respond to how women’s leadership relates to the transition towards sustainability as well as showcasing best practices, opportunities and challenges associated with integrating the gender dimension into financial decisions.

Confirmed Speakers:

  • Carmen Niethammer, Sr. Gender Specialist, European Investment Bank
  • Maria Löwenbrück, Member of the Board, Union Investment Luxembourg
  • Edith Ginglinger, Professor of Corporate Finance Université Paris-Dauphine
  • Michael Halling, Chair in Sustainable Finance, University of Luxembourg (Moderator)
